We have finally made it to the end of the year and kindergarten has been a huge topic of conversation in my classroom. My kids are excited and also a little bit nervous. To help with the transition we have
been reading books and talking about kindergarten daily.
After reading the book Kindergarten, Here I come! my kids wrote letters asking questions about kindergarten.
They wanted to know all kinds of different things. Will they eat lunch at school? Do they have art? What is the teacher like? Will they get to play on the big playground? Will they have homework?
The kids actually took these letters with them when they visited a kindergarten class at school. They were able to ask their questions and have the kindergarteners answer them.
Now my kids love writing letters and have been writing them to their friends, families, and other teachers at school. It’s been a great way for my kids to practice their writing skills!
