4th of July Flags

Summer is here and that means it is almost time for the 4th of July!  Here is an easy 4th of July flag art activity to do with your preschoolers. All you need are star garland, foam board and streamers. All the materials for this activity can be found at the dollar store.

First, Have children use the streamers to create the stripes on the flag. When I did this activity some of the kids looked at an American flag to get an idea of how they wanted to make their flag. Others just made their flag however they wanted.             

After they added their stripes the kids cut the stars from the garland and glued them onto their flags.

 

That’s all there is to this project. It’s super simple and you get really cute flags at the end. Happy 4th of July!
